The title of this collection is also part of the title of a book by Mary-Ann Ray about some buildings in Italy. The track "the moon" includes short recordings of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra checking their tuning at a performance in January 2019, tropical frogs calling at the Atlanta Botanical Garden in December 2017, and Joseph Clayton Mills playing a toy piano at a playground in Chicago in 2016.
